The complete Freebie Mom guide
Twenty people will each receive a loose diamond valued at approximately $2,000 in the KAY Diamond Contest 2026. Each prize will be either a radiant-cut or princess-cut diamond selected by the sponsor, bringing the approximate retail value of all 20 prizes to $40,000.
This is a judged story contest rather than a random drawing. To enter, you must share a truthful moment showing how you went “all in” for someone meaningful. You can submit a brief written essay or a short video, so the main task is choosing one specific story and telling it clearly.
What Each of the 20 Winners Receives
Each winner receives one loose diamond with an approximate retail value of $2,000. The sponsor will choose whether the diamond is radiant cut or princess cut, which means winners cannot request a particular shape.
The prize is the loose stone itself. Do not plan your entry around selecting a setting, jewelry design, or specific diamond characteristics, because those choices are not included in the verified prize description.
With 20 prizes available, 20 entrants are expected to become potential winners, subject to verification. The total approximate retail value of the prize pool is $40,000.
How to Enter With an Essay or Video
Start on the official KAY Diamond Contest page and complete the required online registration form. You must then submit your “love all in” story using one of two formats: an essay of no more than 150 words or a video lasting no more than 60 seconds.
If you choose video, keep the finished file at or below 60 seconds and no larger than 350 MB. Accepted formats are MPEG, MP4, MOV, AVI, FLV, and M4V. Staying comfortably below the time limit is safer than relying on a longer recording being trimmed or partially reviewed.
Your submission must be original, truthful, based on your own experience, and written or spoken in English. The contest materials also prohibit entries from including images or likenesses of minors.
Before submitting, check every required field, confirm that your email address is spelled correctly, and preview or reread your story. There is only one entry per person across all entry methods, so sending an essay and a video would not give you two chances.
What Your “Love All In” Story Should Cover
Your story should identify who you went all in for, explain what you did, describe why it mattered, and share what happened afterward. The person can be a partner, friend, family member, or another meaningful person in your life.
A focused moment will usually fit the tight format better than an overview of an entire relationship. Consider a time when you took a chance, made a bold gesture, expressed an important feeling, or acted decisively because you cared about someone.
For an essay, draft without watching the word count at first. Then cut background details that do not help the reader understand the action, motivation, or result. The final version must be 150 words or fewer.
For a video, write a simple outline before recording: who the person is, what happened, why you acted, and what changed. Speak naturally and time a practice version. A clear 50- to 55-second recording leaves room for normal pauses while remaining safely within the limit.
Avoid unnecessary identifying information about the other person. Include only what is needed to make the story understandable, and do not place private contact details, addresses, or other sensitive information in the submission.
How the Entries Are Judged
The 20 highest-scoring eligible entries are selected as potential winners. Originality and creativity account for 30% of the score, while overall quality accounts for another 30%. Relevance to the contest theme is worth 20%, and sincerity is worth the remaining 20%.
That scoring structure makes clarity important. An unusual story may help with originality, but it still needs to answer the prompt and feel genuine. Likewise, polished writing or video production should support the story rather than distract from it.
Use concrete details to show the choice you made and its effect, but do not exaggerate. A modest act can still be compelling when the stakes, motivation, and outcome are easy to understand.
Because this is judged, there is no advantage to entering repeatedly—and repeated entries are not permitted anyway. Your best entry-frequency strategy is to prepare one careful submission, review it against every requirement, and send it once. Judging is scheduled for approximately November 2, 2026.
Who Can Enter and When Entries Close
The contest is open to legal residents of the 50 United States and Washington, D.C., who are at least 18 years old when they enter. It is void in Puerto Rico, U.S. territories and possessions, and anywhere else prohibited.
Employees, officers, and directors of the parties involved in the promotion cannot enter. Their immediate family members and people living in their households are also excluded.
The entry period began September 10, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. Eastern Time. Entries must be received by October 31, 2026, at 11:59 p.m. Eastern Time.
Do not wait until the final minutes, especially if you plan to upload a video. File size, internet speed, or a missed form field could delay submission. Entering earlier also leaves time to resolve a technical issue without rushing.
Winner Email Safety and Prize Follow-Up
Potential winners are expected to be contacted by email around November 16, 2026. Watch the inbox connected to your entry, including spam and promotions folders, during that period.
A potential winner may need to complete and return required documents within 72 hours. That is a short response window, so add the approximate notification date to your calendar and check messages regularly.
Treat unexpected prize messages carefully. Compare the sender and instructions with the official contest page and rules before providing information. A legitimate prize notification should not require you to pay a fee to become a winner. Do not send money or provide banking credentials in response to an unverified message.
Winning is subject to eligibility and entry verification, so an initial email does not necessarily mean the prize is final. Follow the official instructions promptly, retain copies of correspondence, and ask for clarification through official contact information if something appears inconsistent.
One final consideration is how the submitted story may be used. The contest terms grant the sponsor broad, ongoing rights to use submitted stories and related content without additional compensation. Share only a story you are comfortable submitting under those terms, particularly if it discusses another person or a sensitive event.
Before pressing submit, confirm that your story is truthful, within the essay or video limit, free of prohibited minor likenesses, and entered only once. That final review protects the work you put into your one allowed chance at one of the 20 diamonds.
