Carnival Guy’s Ultimate Points Giveaway

Wanna win250,000 points?

16 winners share one million Carnival Rewards points. Points are not cash.

Giveaway details + how to enter

A cruise budget begins with the sailing you want and continues through the journey home. The fare is an important number, but it does not tell you what every traveler will spend on transportation, optional onboard purchases or activities ashore. Planning those choices ahead of time can help you enjoy the trip without repeatedly guessing what is left in the budget.

Carnival’s Guy’s Ultimate Points Giveaway has 16 winners and one million Carnival Rewards points available in total. The points are not a million-dollar cash prize. This guide explains how to compare cruise costs and evaluate rewards as part of a travel plan, with the giveaway’s precise prize tiers and entry instructions below.

Compare complete cruise options for your household

Start with the number of travelers, possible dates and the departure ports you can reasonably reach. Then decide what matters most: the itinerary, time aboard, cabin arrangement or specific activities. Two sailings with similar prices may suit very different families. A useful comparison begins with what you want to do, not simply the largest discount printed in an advertisement.

Read the quote for the actual group. Check the cabin category, occupancy, dates and what the displayed total includes. A per-person headline is not the total cost for everyone traveling. Keep the final quote and its conditions so you can compare it with another sailing on the same basis.

Ask what is included in the fare and which services are optional purchases. Carnival’s cruise-price guide describes included dining and entertainment, as well as extras such as specialty dining, some beverages, internet, excursions and vacation protection. Availability and details depend on the ship and sailing; check your specific booking.

Create a comparison sheet with a column for each trip. List the cruise quote, travel to the port, accommodation before departure if needed, local transportation and the extras you plan to use. Add the same categories for every option. That keeps one apparently inexpensive fare from looking cheaper simply because you have not yet counted its other costs.

Decide which upgrades are meaningful to you. A cabin feature you will enjoy every day may matter more than several add-ons you feel pressured to buy because they are on sale. Equally, a basic arrangement may serve your family well. The right budget is the one that supports your own plans and leaves room for the expenses you know are coming.

Plan the journey to the port and back home

A cruise begins at a port, and reaching that port belongs in the budget. Compare driving, parking, flying and local transfers using current quotes for your dates. If a family member is helping with transportation, agree on the schedule and a backup plan. A generous offer of a ride is useful, but it still needs to fit the sailing’s check-in requirements.

Read the cruise line’s arrival guidance before choosing transportation. Do not build a plan around arriving at the last possible moment. Consider what a delayed flight or heavy traffic would mean for your party, and make decisions appropriate to your own itinerary. No single arrival rule covers every departure port and situation.

If you need a hotel, compare the whole stay rather than the room alone. Check whether transfers or parking are included, what their conditions are, and whether they operate when you need them. Confirm the number of people and bags a service can accommodate. A package name that mentions the port does not answer those practical questions.

Write down the return trip too. Think about the time needed to leave the ship, collect belongings and reach the airport or parking area. Ask about transport arrangements before purchasing tickets that depend on an unrealistic connection. Keeping both directions on the same worksheet helps avoid a travel plan that works only on departure day.

Keep identification and travel-document requirements on a separate checklist. Review the cruise line’s instructions and the requirements for every destination on the itinerary. Do not assume an answer for one sailing applies to another. The State Department’s international travel planning resources are a useful starting point for U.S. travelers checking passports and destination information.

Choose onboard extras before they choose your budget

Begin with what your group is likely to use. If you are considering a beverage, dining or internet package, read what it covers and what it excludes. Check the duration, guest requirements and any additional charges. An attractive package is only a saving for your household when it replaces purchases you would otherwise make.

Compare your expected use in plain numbers. If a hypothetical optional package costs $120 and you would otherwise spend around $60 on the covered items, buying it would increase that part of your budget. If your realistic use is higher, review the terms before deciding. The example is arithmetic, not a current cruise-line price or a recommendation for a particular package.

Put excursions in their own category. Consider what is included, the meeting location, accessibility needs and the schedule. Read the provider’s cancellation and return-to-ship information. A shore day can also include purchases that are easy to overlook, such as local transportation and meals. Plan those expenses without assuming the cruise fare covers them.

Review gratuities and service charges using the current information for your sailing. Identify what is already in your quote, what may be added and which optional purchases carry their own charges. Do not rely on a remembered amount from a previous cruise. Keep those figures with your other required costs rather than treating them as a surprise at the end.

Finally, agree on discretionary spending with the other travelers. Souvenirs, photographs, spa visits and spontaneous treats can be part of a great vacation when you have deliberately made room for them. A shared limit does not need to be restrictive; it simply gives everyone a clearer idea of which choices are already in the plan.

Treat cruise rewards as points with terms, not cash

When a promotion awards loyalty points, look first at how the program allows you to use them. Read the redemption options, eligibility rules and any limits before assigning your own value. A point balance is not automatically a bank balance, and a large number does not tell you how much a particular vacation will cost after redemption.

For Guy’s Ultimate Points Giveaway, the official rules explicitly say Carnival Rewards points have no monetary or cash value. The prizes are 250,000 points for one winner, 100,000 points each for five winners and 25,000 points each for ten winners. That adds up to one million points across 16 people. It does not mean every entrant or winner receives one million points.

Keep the reward and the travel budget separate until you know what you can actually redeem. Check the program’s current instructions through your account. If you are comparing a reward with a paid booking, identify which expenses would remain payable. Do not count a benefit twice or assume a redemption covers transportation and optional services as well as the cruise.

You can also decide whether the trip makes sense without a prize. A giveaway is a chance, so required bills and committed travel purchases should not depend on winning it. Save the promotions you want to enter, note the deadline and follow the stated frequency. This one permits a single entry per person per Eastern-calendar day, with free Carnival Rewards membership required.
