Giveaway details + how to enter
Holiday spending is easier to manage when cash, store credit and expected expenses have separate places in the plan. A check can help with a chosen priority, while a gift card has its own redemption conditions. Neither should be counted before it is actually received. Start with a realistic list of purchases and a comfortable spending limit, then decide how any unexpected benefit would fit.
Four independent promotions below offer cash or gift-card prizes: BECU Debit Holiday, CSL Plasma Giving Gives Back, Citizens Bank Christmas Club and UHFCU Holiday Shopping. All have postal alternatives, but their eligibility differs substantially. A free entry method does not erase existing membership, cardholder, state or other restrictions.
Set the holiday plan before adding possible rewards
Make a list of the people, events and household needs you want to cover. Add a reasonable amount beside each planned purchase. Include packaging, shipping and travel connected with the occasion when those costs matter. A list of complete costs is more useful than a collection of sale prices that leaves the final bill unclear.
Mark purchases that have a firm date and those that can wait. This helps you prioritize the items needed for a particular event without rushing through every other decision. If the list exceeds the amount you are comfortable spending, change the plan before shopping. Smaller gifts or a simpler gathering can still be thoughtful choices.
Keep a potential giveaway prize outside the committed total. You have not received the benefit merely by sending an entry. Wait until a legitimate award is verified and fulfilled before assigning it to a purchase. This prevents a drawing deadline or an exciting prize amount from changing an otherwise sensible household plan.
For money already available, write down its purpose clearly. You might decide to replace a necessary item or cover part of an existing holiday list. The important step is choosing deliberately. A prize does not need to trigger an immediate larger purchase, and a retailer gift card need not become a reason to buy products you do not want.
Distinguish cash, restricted cards and account offers
Read the prize description for the type of benefit being awarded. A check, an Amazon gift card and an unspecified gift card are not interchangeable. A large advertised total may combine several awards or components. Identify the individual prize before deciding what it could realistically cover, and read the issuer’s actual terms when the card arrives.
Separate the drawing from any ordinary banking product promoted beside it. An account may have its own requirements and conditions that continue after a promotion ends. Review the provider’s current product information independently if you are considering it for your own needs. Do not open a product solely because you assume every visitor receives the advertised prize.
BECU’s promotion is limited to qualifying Washington residents who already held an eligible consumer debit card before November 1. UHFCU’s rules also require qualifying membership and cardholder status. Mailing without a purchase supplies an alternative entry action; it does not automatically make a noncustomer eligible for a restricted drawing.
Citizens Bank’s Mississippi promotion provides a different example: its stated mail route does not require opening the advertised Christmas Club account. CSL’s mail route does not require plasma donation. Read the specific sponsor’s wording rather than applying a customer requirement from one promotion to another. The separate boxes below explain which restrictions remain.
Keep paperwork and response dates organized
Use a small entry record containing the promotion name, permitted frequency, mailing date and expected notification method. Include the official rules link so you can return to the source. This record is for your own organization; it is not proof that a sponsor has received or accepted your envelope.
Prepare handwritten requests according to each sponsor’s format. Check the card size, required contact information and exact address. Do not add account passwords or unrelated sensitive information. Where the rules specify part of a card number, read the exact requirement carefully rather than sending the full number as an unnecessary addition.
Weekly drawings need the correct week identified. CSL asks mail entrants to reference the chosen entry period and requires arrival before the applicable drawing. One envelope is not an automatic subscription to every weekly pool. The current schedule in the entry section allows readers to select the right period and understand the changing prize amounts.
Watch for legitimate notification through the contact route listed in the rules. Some promotions allow a short response window. UHFCU’s current document contains conflicting response wording, so a selected entrant should respond promptly and confirm the actual deadline directly. Do not wait for the longer of two inconsistent figures as if that resolved the sponsor’s typo.
Use a received award with the same practical care
If a prize is confirmed, verify what will be sent and when. Keep the sponsor’s notification and any acceptance instructions together. Ask about pickup where the rules require collection in person. A mailed entry does not imply the prize itself will be mailed to you, and travel to a branch can affect whether a local award is practical.
For a card, check the balance using the issuer information provided with it. Compare the complete checkout amount with the available value before buying. If a merchant cannot accept your intended payment combination, ask about supported options or choose a smaller planned purchase. Do not assume every card works like cash in every checkout.
For a check award, separate its stated components rather than assuming an additional amount removes every personal obligation. BECU describes checks intended to help offset taxes as part of its prizes. The individual winner’s circumstances still matter; consult an appropriate professional about personal questions instead of treating an advertised offset as a complete calculation.

BECU Debit Holiday Cash Promotion
Prize: Two winners receive checks totaling $22,385 or $7,460, including tax-offset components; $29,845 total
Eligibility: Washington residents physically there, age 18+, who held an eligible BECU consumer debit card in good standing BEFORE November 1, 2026
Deadline: Promotion closes December 31 at 11:59:59 PM PT / January 1 at 2:59:59 AM ET; mail postmark January 2, received January 9
- Handprint first/last name, full mailing address, phone, email, birth date, the first SIX digits only of the eligible card number and BECU Debit Holiday Promotion on plain 3×5-inch paper.
- Use a sealed, stamped, handprinted #10 envelope addressed to BECU Debit Holiday Promotion, 211 Greenwood Ave. 2-2, Promo 540, Bethel, CT 06801. One request per envelope; unlimited separate requests. Postmark January 2; receipt January 9.

CSL Plasma Giving Gives Back Weekly Gift Card Sweepstakes
Prize: 27 prizes across nine weeks; $11,450 total. Ordinary weeks: two $500 cards and one $50 card; weeks 4 and 8: two $1,000 cards and one $50 card

Citizens Bank Christmas Club Holiday Bonus Giveaway
Prize: Eight $500 gift cards and one $1,000 gift card; nine winners and $5,000 total

UHFCU Holiday Shopping Amazon Gift Card Sweepstakes
Prize: Three $500 Amazon gift cards; $1,500 total
Eligibility: Hawaii residents age 18+ with valid SSN; primary UHFCU savings member in good standing and qualifying Platinum Plus/Cash Wave cardholder per eligibility section
Deadline: FREE mail postmark or branch hand-delivery by December 31 at 1 PM HST / 6 PM ET; overall promotion ends 11:59 PM HST
