Giveaway details + how to enter
Hotel loyalty rewards can be useful when the available room, dates and redemption conditions match a trip you would actually take. A points balance by itself does not tell you what a stay will cost or whether using points is better than another rate. Compare the complete reservation before deciding how to pay.
Marriott Bonvoy’s separate Super Bowl Sleepover promotion includes weekly gift cards, finalist awards and a stadium-suite trip. The grand prize requires a judged video from selected finalists; it is not awarded solely by the initial random drawing. Its entry details are below, with this guide to evaluating hotel rewards and keeping the different kinds of travel benefits straight.
Compare the same hotel stay in cash and points
Begin with an actual trip: the property, dates, room type and number of guests. Search for the room you need under the available booking options. A points quote for one room is not directly comparable with a cash quote for a different room or a less flexible rate. Save the conditions beside each amount so the comparison survives another search.
List every amount required under each option. One booking might use points and still require a cash payment for particular charges. Another might include a feature you would otherwise purchase separately. Use the final quote rather than assuming that a points reservation means no money will be needed during the stay.
For a hypothetical comparison, suppose equivalent arrangements cost $240 in cash or 30,000 points plus $30. Subtracting the cash component leaves $210 covered by the points. Dividing $210 by 30,000 gives 0.7 cents per point for that specific example. These are illustrative figures, not Marriott rates or a universal value assigned to its points.
Use that result as information, not a target you must chase. A redemption at a different property may produce a different calculation, and a room you would never book with cash should not automatically be valued at its highest displayed price. Your own travel needs and affordable alternatives are part of deciding whether the reward is useful.
Read availability, cancellation and account conditions
Check availability for the complete stay before building the rest of the itinerary around a reward. Seeing a property in a program does not establish that your preferred room is available for every date. Look at the actual booking and confirm whether any part of the stay requires a different arrangement.
Read the cancellation deadline and what would be returned if you cancel. Points, certificates, cash deposits and other benefits may have different conditions. Record the full date and the hotel’s stated time zone. A general memory of a loyalty program’s rules is less useful than the terms attached to the reservation you are about to confirm.
Use the program’s official Marriott Bonvoy terms and the reservation conditions for questions about earning, redemption and account requirements. Program rules can change, so keep a dated copy of the information relevant to your booking. Do not treat a blog’s old points valuation as a replacement for the current terms.
Ask how an extra night, additional guest or room change would affect the quote before making changes. Keep the original and revised confirmations until everything is resolved. A reward booking deserves the same attention as a cash booking, particularly when flights or event tickets depend on arriving and leaving on specific dates.
Keep points, gift cards and membership benefits separate
Create separate rows for each kind of benefit you might use. Points are a program currency subject to redemption rules. A hotel gift card follows its own acceptance and use conditions. An elite-status benefit, certificate or promotional credit may have still other requirements. Giving them all the same cash value can make a travel budget look more generous than it really is.
For a gift card, check where it is accepted, how payment works and whether the intended charge is eligible. Verify the balance through the issuer’s official process. Do not assume a hotel-branded gift card can pay every fee, an unrelated booking platform or every service at a destination simply because the hotel participates in the brand’s loyalty program.
Value included features according to use. Breakfast, parking or a late checkout may be convenient, but a published retail value is not automatically money you save. If you would not have purchased the service, keep that distinction in the calculation. Compare the final trip you would actually buy with and without the benefit.
Marriott’s giveaway has both Marriott Bonvoy gift-card awards and NFL Shop awards, plus the grand-prize travel package. Those are different prizes with different uses. Its US$27,550 total is the combined retail value of the stated awards, not a cash amount each entrant can receive or a points balance that becomes available merely by joining.
Budget the rest of the trip and understand the entry path
Add transportation, meals, parking and other expected spending to the hotel comparison. Even a room covered by rewards does not make an entire trip free. Keep the costs you must pay separate from optional activities, then choose a plan that remains affordable if you do not receive an upgrade or unexpected benefit.
If you consider a payment card connected to a travel program, evaluate its fees, borrowing terms and redemption conditions independently. The CFPB’s credit-card resources explain the information to compare. An attractive points offer does not establish that a credit product suits your finances, and opening one is not required for this giveaway.
The free Marriott promotion requires a Marriott Bonvoy membership and one official form submission. That entry carries forward into later eligible weekly drawings and the finalist drawing. Selected finalists must respond promptly and submit the required original video; the grand-prize winner is chosen through judging criteria. The initial signup alone does not complete that later finalist task.
The final entry section describes the weekly prizes, finalist awards, trip and deadline. Across the promotion there are 54 prize awards, with the possibility of one person receiving more than one award under the rules. Freebie Mom Entry Tickets are separate. Use the official button and complete the sponsor’s own entry to participate.
