How to play McDonald’s Monopoly in 2026
- Set up the app first. Download or update the McDonald’s app, sign in, opt in to MyMcDonald’s Rewards and tap the Monopoly banner to register for the game.
- Get an official game piece. Look for specially marked packaging on qualifying food and drinks at participating U.S. restaurants. The mail-in alternative is explained below.
- Peel, then scan. Open Monopoly inside the app and select Add Code. Scan the piece or type its code to record a property, claim a food or points prize, or receive a Chance Card play.
- Check your game account. Review your properties, available Chance Card plays and any prize-claim instructions. Keep the original pieces in case McDonald’s needs them for verification.
Do this before ordering: Register for the game first, then order qualifying items through the app or use your Rewards code at the counter, kiosk or drive-thru. That earns a bonus Chance Card play for each eligible item during the promotion. Merely having the app is not the same as being registered for Monopoly.

Which McDonald’s menu items have Monopoly pieces?
The official participating-items page and rules list these qualifying categories, subject to marked packaging and local availability:
- Breakfast: Hash Browns, McMuffin sandwiches and biscuit sandwiches, excluding limited-time biscuit sandwiches.
- Burgers: Big Mac and Quarter Pounder with Cheese.
- Chicken: Regular 10-piece Chicken McNuggets and 4-piece McCrispy Strips.
- Fries: Large fries.
- Cold drinks: Large soft drinks, iced coffees, iced teas, lemonade and McCafé specialty drinks.
- Hot drinks: Large Premium Roast Coffee, mocha, latte, cappuccino, Americano, macchiato, hot tea and Premium Hot Chocolate.
Watch the size: The drink and fry categories above specify large. Spicy Chicken McNuggets and seasonal or limited-time items that otherwise fit a category are excluded. Do not assume every item in a meal comes with a piece.
Check your order before leaving. Some restaurants provide a separate game-piece card, and promotional packaging is limited. A restaurant serving the qualifying food does not guarantee it still has game pieces.
McDonald’s Monopoly 2026 prizes: four ways to play
Your peel can reveal a food prize, Rewards points, a Collect to Win property or a Chance Card play. A property or Chance Card is not automatically a prize. Quantities below are the sponsor’s starting allocations, not a live count of prizes remaining.
1. Free McDonald’s food
Food-prize options include small fries, an apple pie, a small soft drink or coffee, two chocolate chip cookies, a Mini McFlurry, a vanilla cone, a McChicken, a Double Cheeseburger, a small shake or smoothie, select small McCafé drinks, a 4-piece McNuggets, a Snack Wrap and a McGriddles sandwich. The app shows the choices attached to your specific win; you do not receive everything on this list.
There are roughly 122.46 million physical game-piece food prizes at the outset, plus additional food prizes through Chance Card. Limited-time and seasonal variations are excluded.
2. MyMcDonald’s Rewards points
Point-prize tiers are 1,500, 3,500, 5,000 or 7,000 points. These go into your Rewards account after claiming. They are points to use within McDonald’s Rewards, not cash.
3. Collect to Win: all 10 property sets
Complete a listed combination in your own game account to become a potential winner, subject to verification. This chart matches each 2026 set to its prize:

Important: Boardwalk and Park Place lead to the Carnival package this year—not the $1 million. The million-dollar prize is in the separate Chance Card game. Do not use an older year’s property chart.
The Polaris options are a 2026 GENERAL XP 1000 Premium, a 2026 Slingshot S Autodrive or a 2027 Patriot Boost INDY VR1 Dynamix. The Universal prize includes a four-night stay and park tickets for four; the Kennedy Space Center prize is a three-night trip for four. Travel deadlines and restrictions apply. 4. Chance Card instant-win prizes
Use eligible plays in the app’s Chance section. This pool includes food and points, plus the cash, vehicles, trips, gift cards and other prizes below. The animation does not determine your result; the rules use preselected winning times.

The $1 million is not an immediate lump sum: It is paid as $50,000 annually for 20 years without interest. The $10,000 daily award has a limit of one such prize per person. The two $50,000 prize categories are cash awards; the rules allow the winners to decide how to use the money.
There are 15 Jeep prizes altogether: 5 through property collection and 10 through Chance Card. The international McDonald’s trip choices include locations in New Zealand, Italy, Singapore, Portugal and France.

How to get a McDonald’s Monopoly game piece without a purchase
You do not have to buy McDonald’s food to participate. The 2026 no-purchase method is a mail-in request, not a promise of free codes by email. Here is the process in Rule 4.A.(2):
- Prepare a self-addressed envelope with your complete mailing address and sufficient first-class return postage. Use a stamp, not metered postage. Vermont residents may leave off the return postage.
- Place that envelope inside a separate outer envelope with sufficient non-metered postage. Keep mailing and return addresses legible.
- Send one request per outer envelope to the address below. Requests must actually arrive by November 2, 2026.

A compliant request receives one game piece while supplies last. Entering that mailed piece’s code by the Chance Card deadline also adds one bonus Chance Card play. Postage and mailing time matter, so leave room for the piece to come back before November 8. The app and registration requirements still apply.
No purchase necessary does not mean postage-free. The Vermont exception covers return postage only. Review the official mail-in instructions before sending your request.
When does McDonald’s Monopoly end?
There is more than one deadline. Save the one that applies to what you are trying to do:

Leftover marked packaging may continue to be distributed after November 1, until it runs out or November 22, whichever comes first. That does not extend the purchase-based bonus-play window or the November 8 Chance Card deadline. Partner gift cards, codes and travel prizes may have later use-by dates.
How to redeem a Monopoly food prize
Scan the winning piece in the app first. Your food deal should appear in Rewards & Deals within approximately 24 hours; a paper piece alone cannot be handed to the cashier for redemption. Use the food prize by November 22.
Only one food prize is allowed per person per visit, and it cannot be combined with other deals or coupons. Visits to the same restaurant within two hours count as one visit. Menu hours and availability still apply, and delivery fees or customization charges are not waived just because the food is a prize.
For other wins, follow the app’s claim instructions and check the email attached to your account. Larger prizes can require verification documents. Keep the original pieces and respond within the stated deadlines.
McDonald’s Monopoly 2026 FAQs
Is every game piece a winner?
No. The advertised overall instant-win odds are about 1 in 5, mostly food, at the start of the game. That is not a 1-in-5 chance at a Jeep or cash, and it does not promise a win every five pieces. Individual prize odds differ and change as prizes are claimed.
Can I play without the McDonald’s app?
No. The U.S. 2026 game requires the app, Rewards opt-in and game registration, including for people using the no-purchase mail-in option.
Do unused Chance Card plays carry over?
Yes, you can use banked plays on later days until November 8, subject to the daily maximum of eight. Separately, you may enter up to eight game-piece codes per day. Both daily limits use Eastern Time.
Can I trade pieces or use multiple accounts?
Do not assume trading or selling is allowed. The rules tightly restrict transfers. Use one personal app account and one game registration; account sharing and extra accounts can result in disqualification.
What if a game-piece code will not scan?
Try typing it with Add Code and check your game history before retrying after an interruption. Keep the physical piece and use the official FAQs for further help. Never post a clear photo of an unused code publicly.
Is McDonald’s for a year unlimited food?
No. It is a $1,040 McDonald’s gift card, based on $20 per week for 52 weeks. DoorDash for a year is likewise a set-value $1,560 card.
What should I know before accepting a big prize?
Taxes, vehicle ownership expenses and costs beyond a prize’s stated inclusions may be your responsibility. Trip dates, documents and booking restrictions apply. Read the terms for your exact award rather than assuming every expense is covered.
