Choose a collecting goal and a limit
Write down the set, player, character or design you want to collect. A focused goal can make it easier to pass on products that do not fit.
Set an amount you can spend from available discretionary money. Keep household needs and other savings goals separate.
Include protection and storage
Price any appropriate sleeves, holders or storage you intend to use. Follow product instructions and ask a qualified collectibles specialist about a particular item when needed.
Save purchase records and keep a simple inventory. Know what is already in the collection before ordering duplicates.
Compare reward options with the intended store
