Giveaway details + how to enter
A used vehicle’s practical cost extends beyond the number attached to its purchase or prize value. Registration, insurance, collection, maintenance and the way you intend to use it can affect the decision. A customized classic car and a large pickup may suit very different needs, even when a giveaway lets the same winner choose between them.
GW Country’s ninth giveaway offers a choice of a pre-owned customized 1968 Camaro plus $10,000, a pre-owned customized 2024 GMC Sierra 2500 Denali Ultimate plus $10,000, or a $45,000 cash alternative. One winner chooses one option. A handwritten postal method is available without buying merchandise. This guide explains what to consider around a vehicle award before the detailed no-purchase instructions below.
Match the vehicle to its intended use
Write down how you would use the vehicle before comparing prize photographs. A weekend classic, a daily commute and work involving a pickup are different purposes. Think about passengers, parking, storage and the routes you normally drive. An appealing vehicle can be enjoyable without being the right replacement for the one your household currently relies on.
Read the exact vehicle description, including the model year and any disclosed modifications. A customized vehicle should not be treated as identical to the factory model’s original specification. Ask the sponsor for the available records and confirmed details if selected. Photographs can show appearance, but they do not replace information about condition, equipment, maintenance or the terms under which the vehicle is delivered.
Consider storage and access before accepting a large or unusual vehicle. Check the space available at home and any actual restrictions that apply to your parking arrangement. A truck’s dimensions can affect everyday use, and a classic may raise different storage questions. Use real measurements and the confirmed vehicle details rather than guessing from a photo beside another object.
Keep the needs of other household members visible. If the prize would change shared transport arrangements, discuss the decision before making commitments. A second vehicle can add costs even when it does not replace a current payment. Decide what function the award would perform and which existing expenses, if any, would genuinely change after acceptance.
Plan insurance, registration and collection separately
The rules make the vehicle winner responsible for applicable title, tag, registration and tax costs. Requirements depend on the winner’s location and the actual vehicle. Check the relevant official motor-vehicle information for your own jurisdiction when a decision is needed. A general giveaway description cannot establish the registration amount or process for every entrant.
Ask an appropriate insurer about the exact vehicle and intended use if you are selected. A quote for a different model or an ordinary factory configuration may not describe a customized classic or pickup. Be accurate about use, drivers and storage when seeking information. Do not assume a prize’s advertised value is the same figure an insurer will use for every purpose.
Review how and where the sponsor will transfer the vehicle before booking travel or transport. Collection, delivery and any inspection arrangements should come from the confirmed award instructions. A cash component does not automatically mean those expenses are separately paid by the sponsor. Keep the cost of accepting the vehicle distinct from the money you might spend using it afterward.
Keep vehicle documents, award paperwork and verified contact information together. Read any required acceptance forms within the stated response window, and ask the administrator about unclear details through its official channel. Avoid paying an unfamiliar social-media account that claims to release a prize. The rules say the administrator contacts potential winners using the phone or email details on their entry.
Compare the vehicle choices with the cash alternative
GW Country lists a combined value of $89,000 for the Camaro option and $88,000 for the Sierra option, each including its own $10,000 check. Those are sponsor valuations for different packages, not two prizes paid to one winner. The separate $45,000 cash choice replaces the vehicle package and excludes the other cash offers under the rules.
Compare the choices using their practical role in your life, rather than ranking only the advertised totals. If a vehicle would require storage, transport or ongoing costs that do not fit your plans, that matters to the decision. If you would genuinely use it, review the confirmed condition and responsibilities carefully. No single choice is automatically best for every possible winner.
Include maintenance and ordinary use in the comparison. Fuel, servicing, repairs and replacement parts can remain your responsibility after delivery. The terms also describe prize conditions and limitations that deserve a full read. Do not rely on an assumption that a pre-owned customized prize has the same support arrangement as a new vehicle bought from a local dealer.
Keep a potential prize outside resources available today. Entering by mail does not reserve a vehicle or create a cash balance. Avoid buying additional equipment or selling a current vehicle in anticipation of selection. If an award becomes real, take the decision using the actual paperwork, verified details and appropriate personal advice for any tax or other individual question.
