Veterans United and Realtor.com are giving one eligible military homebuyer $100,000 toward a qualifying home purchase. The New Home for the Holidays Giveaway is free to enter. This is not an existing-mortgage payoff or an unrestricted cash award.
What the $100,000 prize covers
The award helps fund a qualifying purchase of a home the winner will own and occupy as a primary residence in the 50 states or D.C. Funds may be paid into the transaction or escrow rather than directly to the winner.
It cannot pay down an existing mortgage or other existing debt. The rules also prohibit buying a home already occupied by the winner or immediate family, or buying from an immediate family member.
Who qualifies for the military giveaway?
The rules cover qualifying current U.S. servicemembers and honorably discharged veterans, including eligible National Guard and Reserve service. Entrants must be domiciled in the 50 states or D.C. and have reached the age of majority.
Military-service verification and other eligibility checks apply. This is sponsored by a private lender with Realtor.com; it is not a government benefit or an award open to all homebuyers.
How to enter without a purchase

The limit is one entry per person for the entire promotion. Multiple forms, emails or identities can lead to disqualification. Save the on-screen confirmation after your own submission.
Deadline and home-purchase restrictions
Entries close December 17, 2026 at 11:59 a.m. Eastern—before noon, not midnight. The drawing is expected during the week of December 28.
The winner generally must close the qualifying purchase within 180 days of confirmation; special deployment provisions apply. Minimum purchase-value conditions, tax withholding and verification requirements are in the rules. The winner pays any remaining purchase balance and related expenses.
What happens if you are selected?
The potential winner must complete the sponsor’s identity, service, eligibility and background checks, plus required releases. The sponsor also requires cooperation with filming and publicity around the closing.
Review those conditions before entering. The prize does not guarantee mortgage approval, cover every homebuying cost or replace independent advice about a specific home purchase.
