Free Petco Santa Photos for Pets: December 12, 2026
Petco has announced free photos with Santa for pets at select stores on Saturday, December 12, 2026. Its holiday announcement also describes a Naughty vs. Nice Meter photo backdrop at all locations, but that does not mean Santa will be present at every store.
This is an advance heads-up. Local event hours, reservation requirements and the list of Santa locations have not been confirmed. Check Petco’s official event listings and contact your store before planning the visit.

How to get it
- Open Petco’s official store-events page using the button below and look for the December 12, 2026 holiday photo event at your chosen location.
- Confirm whether that store will have Santa or only the holiday photo backdrop. The sponsor says Santa will be available at select stores.
- Check the local time, any booking or check-in instructions and the store’s requirements for bringing your pet. If those details are not listed yet, contact the store or check again closer to the date.
- Attend only at the location and time you have confirmed. Bring appropriate handling supplies for your pet and follow staff instructions. Freebie Mom does not reserve a photo session or register a pet for you.
Will every Petco have Santa?
No. Petco’s official holiday release says the photo opportunity returns to select stores December 12. It distinguishes the Naughty vs. Nice Meter backdrop available at all locations from free photos with Santa at select Petco stores.
That distinction matters when choosing a destination. A festive backdrop may let you take a holiday picture, but it is not confirmation that a person dressed as Santa will be there. Ask the specific store which version it is hosting.
Are appointments available now?
The national announcement does not publish a universal appointment system, time window or per-store capacity. This article has not confirmed a booking slot or tested local registration. Use the official event listings for current details and call the store if the event is not yet displayed.
Do not treat an ordinary grooming appointment or a different store event as a Santa-photo reservation. Confirm the event name, date, address and check-in instructions before making a special trip.
Is a purchase required?
Petco calls the select-store Santa photos free, and its national announcement does not state a purchase condition for that event. It does not specify a print package, digital delivery method or the number of photographs supplied. Those details should be checked locally rather than assumed.
Holiday shopping, optional donations and any separate paid services are different activities. Read the specific event listing for its conditions; this preview does not promise a free grooming service, merchandise bundle or paid photo upgrade.
Plan the visit around your pet
Choose a visit that suits your pet and the store’s process. Ask about the expected setup, handling rules and how the line will work if you need that information. Bring the supplies you normally use to keep your pet appropriately supervised.
If the setting would not suit your pet, a photo at home is another option. The national announcement is not a guarantee of immediate access, unlimited sessions or availability after the scheduled event. Recheck the official local details before December 12.
