Looking for free things to do this weekend, October 3–4, 2026? Start with Halloween freebies, a hands-on kids’ workshop, a Target giveaway and museum visits for eligible cardholders. We also found a few inexpensive food stops worth knowing about.
Checked October 3, 2026. This U.S. guide covers Saturday and Sunday. Event times are local; participation, capacity and supplies vary. Purchase-required offers and regional events are clearly marked.
Today’s early stop: Lowe’s Halloween tote
The giveaway starts at 10 AM Saturday, October 3, for the first 150 MyLowe’s Rewards members, while supplies last. Arrive early if this is your must-have!
The best free activities and giveaways this weekend
SATURDAY, OCT. 3 • STARTS AT 10 AM
Lowe’s: free Halloween trick-or-treat tote
FREE • MyLowe’s Rewards membership required
Pick up a glow-in-the-dark Halloween trick-or-treat bag at Lowe’s. The brand’s announcement says the first 150 MyLowe’s Rewards members can receive one, while quantities last.
Join the free MyLowe’s Rewards program or sign in before leaving home.
Have your membership information ready and arrive early.
Ask the store team where the giveaway is being handed out.
A membership does not reserve a bag. If you are making a special trip, check with your store first.
FREE hands-on activity • Materials while supplies last
Kids can build a Witch Candy Box at Home Depot’s October workshop. The official store listing confirms the October 3 date, 9 AM–noon window and free materials.
Choose your store on the workshop page and check registration. If online spots are full, call before assuming walk-ins or extra kits are available. Plan to stay and help your child with the project.
Target’s Halloween event features Blood Orange Liquid I.V. and a party punch kit with a sample stick, recipe card, stir sticks and more.
The giveaway is for guests 16 and older, while supplies last. Target does not list a purchase requirement for this event. Check the participating-store list: not every Target is included, and a four-hour event window does not guarantee kits will last all afternoon.
Museums on Us: free admission for eligible cardholders
FREE general admission • Eligible bank card + photo ID required
October 3–4 is the next Bank of America Museums on Us weekend. Bring an active Bank of America, Merrill or Bank of America Private Bank credit or debit card and valid government-issued photo ID.
The benefit covers one general admission for the eligible cardholder, not everyone in the group. Special exhibitions and extra experiences are excluded. Check the museum’s hours and admission procedures; some partners participate on just one weekend day.
Give the Halloween costume an early outing! BIGGBY’s brand-issued fall announcement says children who visit in costume can receive a free kids’ drink October 1–31.
That includes this weekend. Ask your nearby shop which kids’ drinks qualify before ordering. The announcement does not give a specific age cutoff or drink size, so we are not assuming one.
These are not completely free meals. They can be useful add-ons if you already planned to eat out.
SUNDAY, OCT. 4 • ALL DAY AT PARTICIPATING BAKERIES
Cinnabon: $1 Classic Roll on Sunday
$1 DEAL • Cinnabon Rewards • In-bakery only
Cinnabon Rewards members can get a Classic Roll for $1 on October 4. Join or sign in to Rewards and check the offer before ordering at a participating bakery.
Saturday is a different offer: on October 3, Rewards members can add an eligible small beverage for $1 with a baked-good purchase. The $1 roll is Sunday’s deal. Specialty frozen drinks and bottled beverages are excluded from the small-beverage promotion.
These can be worthwhile if the purchase was already on your list. Don’t buy something you don’t need just to claim the extra.
SATURDAY, OCT. 3 • NOON–4 PM
Target: compact wet bag with qualifying diapers
GIFT WITH PURCHASE • Ages 16+ • Participating stores
Target’s The Right Diaper Event offers a compact wet bag with a qualifying purchase of Pampers 360 Cruisers, bumbum diapers or Pampers Amore diapers.
Limited supplies; giveaway recipients must be 16 or older. Confirm the qualifying product with the event team before paying. This Saturday promotion is separate from Sunday’s Halloween punch-kit giveaway.
Michaels: decorate a craft pumpkin at Pumpkin Fest
PUMPKIN PURCHASE REQUIRED • Listed for ages 13+
Michaels lists Pumpkin Fest on October 4. Buy a craft pumpkin of your choice, then use the event’s decorating supplies to make it your own.
The class page lists ages 13+ and all skill levels. The pumpkin itself is not free. Confirm your local time and participation before going; the national class page does not show a universal start time.
These are location-specific options, not nationwide giveaways.
OCT. 3–4 • MAKE & TAKE: 2–4 PM EACH DAY
Oregon: LEGO Bridgeport Village anniversary freebies
FREE activities • Bridgeport Village store only
The LEGO Store at Bridgeport Village is celebrating its first anniversary. The first 250 guests each day can receive a free LEGO goodie bag, and a Red Brick Make & Take runs 2–4 PM both days.
The announcement also lists a photo opportunity, a LEGO mascot and an anniversary-cake search. Check with this specific store for details and availability.
Separate paid offer: the anniversary minifigure requires a qualifying LEGO Insiders purchase of at least $50. Do not confuse that gift-with-purchase with the free activities.
REGIONAL • Generally paid adult admission + coupon
The San Diego Museum Council’s October program offers children 12 and under free admission with a paid adult at many participating attractions. More than 70 venues are listed, with some free for the whole family.
Download the coupon for the venue you want and read its exact terms. Age rules, reservations and the number of children covered may vary. This is not a blanket promise that every family member gets in free.
FREE PDF • Your own paper, printer and coloring supplies
Make a cozy craft afternoon with our 24 free printable Halloween bookmarks. Kids can color their favorites, cut them out with adult help and tuck one into their next library book.
The download is free; printing supplies are your own. It is an easy backup if a store giveaway runs out.
Saturday: prioritize your must-have. Home Depot and Lowe’s overlap in the morning, so allow for driving and lines instead of assuming you can collect everything.
Sunday: check Target’s participating-store list before planning around the noon event. Add a museum visit if someone in your group qualifies.
Keep a backup: have a library visit, neighborhood walk or at-home coloring session ready if supplies disappear.
Weekend freebie questions
Is the Lowe’s bag for the first 100 or 150 people?
The October 3 announcement says 150 MyLowe’s Rewards members, starting at 10 AM, while supplies last.
Which Target event is actually free without a listed purchase?
Sunday’s Halloween punch-kit giveaway has no purchase requirement listed on its event page. Saturday’s compact wet bag requires qualifying diapers. Both give their giveaway age minimum as 16.
Do I need to register for free weekend activities?
It depends. Check Home Depot’s registration page for your store, have your Lowe’s membership ready, and review any museum reservation requirements. A free event can still have limited capacity.
Can everyone in my family visit a museum free?
Not automatically. Museums on Us covers the eligible cardholder. San Diego’s Kids Free promotion has separate venue-specific rules. Your library may also offer museum passes; our library museum-pass guide explains where to look.
