A miniature Pizza Hut that serves up free books for your community? Yes! Pizza Hut and Little Free Library are accepting applications for 24 free “Little Hut Library” packages—book-sharing boxes with the familiar red-roof look, a starter collection of 25 new books and paid shipping.
The collaboration celebrates National Book Month and National Pizza Month. If you have an approved spot for a neighborhood book exchange and can care for it, this could be a fun way to help more people discover their next read.

Who can apply: Adults 18+ with a U.S. library location and physical shipping address, the required permissions and regular access to care for the library.
What comes with the free Pizza Hut Little Free Library?
The selected hosts receive a ready-assembled book box styled like a classic red-roof Pizza Hut, plus the materials to get their book exchange started:
- 25 new books chosen and provided by Little Free Library.
- A registration sign, Pizza Hut plaque and a choice of a wooden post kit or stand, selected during confirmation.
- A host guide and supporting materials.
- Pizza Hut and BOOK IT! extras, including a T-shirt, buttons and a limited number of Personal Pan Pizza coupons.
- Shipping paid by the program.
The pizza rewards are limited and available while supplies last. Applying does not guarantee a library or a pizza coupon, and the announcement does not give an exact number of pizza rewards per package.
Who qualifies to host a Little Hut Library?
You must be at least 18, live locally to the proposed library and be able to access it regularly. Both the installation site and physical shipping address must be in the United States. If applying for an organization, you need its authorization.
Choose your location and get permission before applying. Any required property approval or installation permits must already be in place. The listed limit is one application per household or organization every six months.
You do not have to be an experienced library host. The application asks about past book-sharing experience but explicitly says that experience does not affect eligibility.
How to apply for a free Pizza Hut library
- Review the official requirements. Read the Little Free Library program details, especially the eligibility conditions and recipient agreements.
- Confirm a suitable, approved location. Be ready to explain where the box will go, why you chose that spot and how you will care for it.
- Complete the application. Provide your contact and location information. A backup contact connected to your project is also required.
- Explain your community plan in your own words. The form asks about the library’s expected impact and how you will maintain it and keep books available. Each response is limited to 200 words. LFL recommends against AI-written responses and wants to hear your genuine plans.
- Review the agreements and submit by October 31, 2026. Watch your email and respond to follow-up messages. Applying is not a guarantee of selection.
Important dates for the Little Hut Library program
October 31, 2026: Application deadline. No cutoff time is published.
By November 10, 2026: Applicants are scheduled to be notified.
About two weeks after award notification: Packages are expected to ship. Delivery time varies.
January 1, 2027: Libraries are scheduled to appear on the world map unless the recipient opts out. The program says opting out does not affect eligibility or grant benefits.
What do selected hosts need to do?
A library “steward” is the person or group who looks after the book box. Plan to install it with the supplied signs, complete registration, keep books available and maintain a clean, weather-ready library.
Recipients also agree to share an installation photo and impact story, answer LFL’s follow-up communications and register with the First Book Network. Review all recipient agreements before applying. The free package and paid shipping do not mean someone else will install or maintain the library for you.
